User Research: Summary

Most first aid websites are part of another website and it takes some digging to find the information needed and then the instructions are filled with medical jargon, making it hard for the average user to find out what to do in an emergency situation.

The Goal: to design an app for First Aid instructions which are easy to understand and follow while allowing the user to access the app without an internet connection.

Our research was an unmoderated usability study that took place remotely in the United States. The sessions took place from July 21-22, 2023. We had a total of five participants, with each session taking about 10 minutes each. Participants were between the ages of 18 and 65 and reside within the United States.

We wanted to see what specific difficulties users encountered when trying to find first aid information quickly. Our assumptions were that it would be fairly easy to follow the prompts to find remedies for specific ailments that needed help.
